Servants of Safety: 85 Years of the Tennessee Highway Patrol
Curator: Renee White, Chief of Exhibit Specialties, Phil Kreger, and the curatorial staff for copy and research.
When you start a 'Highway Patrol' with a bicycle, and then a motorbike, and work all the way up to a fleet of law enforcement agents...
You have quite a story to tell. This temporary exhibit went up in July of 2015 and came down in October 2015.
The exhibit had a great many special details. Matching Interstate sign typography for headlines (it is not Helvetica). Timeline years embedded into sign shapes, popping graphics of the walls with cleats, pulling cars and motorcycles out of storage, painting the walls Tennessee Highway Patrol yellow and enough printed graphics to cover 20,000 square feet of space! It was quite a task and a great success. All of the graphics were designed and printed in house.
