When the opportunity arose at Barnes and Company to design a box set for MCA records, I was tapped as the lead designer and art director for the project.

Since Bill Monroe is considered the 'Father of Bluegrass', I chose to design it like an old bible with color plates tipped in between 'bible paper' which is 20 lb text.

The whole endeavor took months of coordination with the Country Music Hall of Fame and MCA records. But in the end the award winning results helped honor his life's works and achievements.   

This box set includes 48 pages, 70 photographs and 28 illustrations plus an extensive bio by noted country music scholar John Rumble. Thanks to all who contributed.
