Mississippi Department of Archives and History:
I cut my teeth with the best design mentor I could have, Cavett Taff of The Old Capitol Museum in Jackson Mississippi.
I will always be in debt to him for teaching me that, "Designers are decision-makers", 'Imagine walking through the exhibit from the end to the beginning", "There is nothing we cannot do if you can imagine it." Those were golden nuggets of wisdom that I still carry.
I miss my friend that was too soon gone. I was working with the smartest people in the state and we did it all without computers.
Exhibit work included "Persistence of Pattern in Mississippi Choctow Culture" and "Phantasmagoria: the Wood Carvings of Willie Barton". along with permanent exhibit design work that state in place until a smart new museum emerged in 2017.
